The Münster Chamber of crafts and skilled trades represents 25 500 small and medium-sized enterprises and 147 000 people working in these enterprises, including 16 000 Apprentices in Vocational Education Training. It is a non-profit corporation under public law which provides a wide range of services to promote a strong and competitive skilled crafts sector in the region of Münster (North-Rhine-Westphalia) as

1. legal advice to its members
2. consulting enterprises which have management or technical problems
3. consulting craftsmen who want to create an own business
4. advising firms and apprentices concerning vocational training

The Chamber runs a modern vocational training centre -the Handwerkskammer Bildungszentrum Münster HBZ - with about 1.800 training places.
